Don’t waste being the person you are.

“To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are.” ~Sven Goran Eriksson

Every day someone crosses your path and you may or may not think I wish I was more like them. The wasted moments of discovering the true awesomeness of the unique you inside being cast to the side because someone else is living or doing or being better than you takes the stage. Being an artist you fight against the flow of your creativity because you see someone else creating art or anything else that is well liked or selling better, so you say to your self my work is not as good, wishing you were like that artist.

Finally with years of wondering behind me I have grown to not care what the trendy thing is anymore and work at what gives me joy. My work might not be magnificent or genius status but it is my work and it is distinctively my style. Paying attention to what matters to the inner me is far more rewarding than any wish of being someone else could ever produce. I find being me and realizing that is enough is a blessing I am very thankful for.

This is a new work of watercolor illustration nature art I have finished and hope you enjoy.

Nature Art Vermont Woods Watercolor Landscape Painting Trees Woodland Forest Original Artwork by Laurie Rohner.

A nature art watercolor original painting is an illustration Vermont Woods. Notice the three ladies standing guard over the forest scenic landscape of the woodland. This illustration watercolor is titled Vermont Woods and is whimsical and fun, ready to hang anywhere. I think mounted under glass on a contrasting colored matte board would be fabulous.
