I specialize in botanical flowers in watercolor and have developed a technique for applying my botanical garden flower illustrations in watercolor on hand painted furniture.
Connect your spirit to nature with art.
Nature, gardens filled with flowers blooming, sun filters down through the ancient trees, birds chirp without a care, and a doe watches you as you walk through the wood. You can smell the sweet scent of fern and sweet grasses, the landscape alive. Not knowingly, you are drawn into part of the tapestry, the woven threads that form nature. This is my favorite place among the flower petals and bumblebees. This experience of being in nature is hopefully experienced in my work. Creating art with the energy and spirit of nature is always present in my botanical illustrations. I hope my work connects you to nature.
Where I am now with my creative process?
I am focused creating my watercolor illustrations. I am expanding and enriching my watercolor illustration designs with new techniques and processes. I am working with a technique using watercolor and gouaches on furniture. Prints are also available now.
I received my BA in Studio Arts, where I studied the fine art of printmaking, painting and interior design. I have been painting, drawing, designing all my life. My very first love was and still is watercolor paintings. Andrew Wyeth’s watercolors and Redoute’s illustrations inspire my work. My work experience includes working closely with an interior designer at Sotheby's in NYC for restoration of painted chairs, Head Designer/Owner for floral shop and now owner of my own studio and shop.
My current obsessions include: garden flowers, tiny houses, botanical illustrations, woodland landscapes, birds and wildlife renderings, animal art.

The sales from my Etsy shop are few and spending more time and energy does not make sense. Etsy has changed. They are not that magical place where people could find quality handmade custom work. It is filled with prints knock offs from China and substandard products. There is still the most wonderful original work found but most serious artists have moved on with their own web sites.
Since I work with FineArtAmerica and Society6 where you can buy any size print, on anything wood, paper, canvas, acrylic or metal, frame it, or buy from the large selection of home decor and accessories with a hassle free return policy at an amazing price why Etsy? Etsy charges for everything and I had to add the additional charges to the final price I charged at Etsy. This really bothered me. I felt like I was cheating my customer, though I was upfront with my policy at Etsy. Etsy customer (I have a record of you) get 10% off on select products.
I have gone back and forth with this for a year. I gave Etsy till the end of the year to prove their value. Sadly the stats proved me right. Etsy has changed. My web sites get an average of 1500 hits a day where Etsy could not break the 50 mark. At one time I had an average of 500 to 700 a day at Etsy. Etsy has stopped listing with Google. Their home page is confusing. Most of the products cater to one demographic, not mine. My clientele tends to be older, affluent and searching for custom one of a kind art and work.
This lovely oil painting is now available in print on paper, canvas, metal and acrylic in standard sizes and in original sizes. Add a frame and enjoy.
Reflections is an oil painting on panel of a pond alongside the road in Vermont. I loved the way the water reflected the intensity of the tree shadows and green leaves on the smooth water surface. The mountains glistened in the distance. Original art has sold. Painting is by Laurie Rohner.
Blue bachelor buttons, mint, asters and larkspur in a watercolor original botanical garden nature art painting. Wildflowers and garden flowers in shades of blues and lavender with sprigs of green grass. The title of this whimsical painting is Blue Buttons by Laurie Rohner. Each flower is painted by hand and then I apply ink. This is a delightful whimsical botanical illustration and is affordable.

Herbs and flowers are illustrated in my watercolor painted on clay board. The watercolor is subtle and makes a wonderful compliment to the ink work. The hint of sky is reminiscence of a summer sky with the herbs and flowers painted in the same subtle hues. I love the contrast of the ink and how the flowers pop.
